Grab your Christmas jumpers, pour your eggnog and crank up the xmas tunes, Christmas has officially arrived in Manchester and Bar Hutte is the destination of choice.

With autumn upon us and winter rolling in, the Manchester scene is set to transform into the epitome of a winter wonderland. Mulled wine, frankfurters in their thousands and poinsettias will fill the main squares and side streets of the city, as the Christmas Markets get in full swing.

In that festive spirit, Manchester Social 101 was lucky enough to be invited to the official 2016 launch of Bar Hütte, which has returned to the city, bigger and better than ever. Based on Crown Square, its unique take on ‘Après Ski’ is one that any Mancunian would adore.

Greeted with a glass of prosecco or a festive tipple – the night was one full of merriment. Warm mulled cider helped wash down taste slider-style canapés including halloumi burgers and delicious pulled-pork buns.

The evening’s entertainment consisted of acoustic carols and Christmas songs, which added to the overall ambience. Whether sat in the main bar, stood in the central space or tucked away in one of the official Hüttes, you couldn’t ignore the Christmas cheer and buzz about the venue.

Each Hütte oozes Nordic charm, with hygge-esque furnishings to keep you cosy and ski-inspired décor, which oddly seem perfectly at home in Manchester. For those seeking to really get into the Christmas spirit there are even “carol-oke” machines – don’t worry, being able to sing is not a prerequisite!
