• A whole season of festive fun guaranteed across the estate

The Christmas season is almost upon us and Spinningfields is set to turn yuletide on its head with a whole Snow Season planned for the estate.

Along with hosting the only ice rink in the city centre, which is due to return to Hardman Square from November 8th – to January 5th, the whole estate will be awash with Christmas activity, with late night shopping on The Avenue, letters to the North Pole, helter skelters and much, much, more.

Open seven days a week, the ice rink once again returns to The Lawns, offering the public the chance to skate under the stars. There will also be a number of food and drink outlets surrounding the rink including The Long Bar and HIBERNATE, formerly INBLOOM, and the big screen will feature Christmas films and music to get people in the festive mood.

Tickets range from £4.00 to £9.00, with discounts for family tickets. There is no additional fee to book online. Prior to the opening of the rink, and for a week after its opening, there will be a limited number of early bird tickets available for £6.50 for every session every day throughout the season (25 per session), which can only be bought online.

In addition to the rink itself, both Hardman Square and Hardman Boulevard will be alight with festive fairground rides, including the helter skelter. The Oast House Teepee will be returning once more from mid-October, with carol singing and performances from the Halle Orchestra to warm the hearts of even the biggest of Scrooges.

For children who want to make sure Santa knows what they want for Christmas, there will be a bespoke post box on site, sending letters from Spinningfields directly to the North Pole. Each letter costs £1 to post, with the money going to children’s charity Brainwave. Each letter sent will receive a reply.

For those shopping on The Avenue, the estate’s Christmas tree will once again be in position there, adorned with giant baubles decorated by the local schools, raising money for CLAPA (Cleft Lip and Palate Association).
