THE OPERA HOUSE, MANCHESTER
Friday 5 December 2014 – Sunday 4 January 2015

First Family Entertainment and The Opera House, Manchester are thrilled to announce that film and television star Warwick Davis and panto favourite Tam Ryan will be joining Priscilla Presley in this year’s dazzling family pantomime – Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

Warwick will star as Prof, with Tam playing the role of Muddles.

Says Warwick: “I am delighted to be appearing with Priscilla Presley in Snow White at the Manchester Opera House this Christmas. I am looking forward to working with the theatre, the cast and crew to bring you the best panto Manchester has ever seen. It’s a ‘tall order’ but I’m determined it won’t fall ‘short’ of audience expectations! I’m looking forward to seeing you all there!”
With a career spanning over three decades, Warwick is best known for his roles in Willow, Star Wars, the Harry Potter films and most recently on our TV screens in Life’s Too Short, Doctor Who, An Idiot Abroad 3 and Weekend Escapes. He recently appeared at the Opera House in See How They Run, with his newly-formed Reduced Height Theatre Company.

Lancashire-based comedian, actor and singer Tam Ryan now considers Manchester as his second home after starring in the Opera House’s pantomime for the past four years – winning rave reviews and a loyal fan following. Screen credits include Mr Duggan in Emmerdale and Jury Foreman in the P.D. James adaption – Death Comes To Pemberley – a highlight of last Christmas’ TV schedule. Tam recently appeared at the Opera House in The Easter Funny Show, which he co-wrote and co-produced alongside actor John Thomson.

Priscilla Presley, Hollywood royalty, TV icon and the wife of the King of Rock N Roll, Elvis Presley will be making her Manchester stage debut in the role of Wicked Queen, following a smash hit run at New Wimbledon Theatre two years ago.

Priscilla – who is best known for co-starring with Leslie Nielsen in the Naked Gun film series and for her role as Jenna Wade in Dallas,- the most successful primetime soap opera of its time – says: “I was introduced to the world of pantomime two years ago when I played Wicked Queen at Wimbledon. I can honestly say it was one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life. My grandchildren absolutely loved seeing me on stage and I can’t wait to get that costume back on again and start terrorising the people of Manchester! It’s such a wonderful honour to be spending Christmas here and being part of this British festive family tradition”.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is a dazzling fairytale of a pantomime guaranteed to melt everyone’s hearts; watch as the beautiful Snow White and the dwarfs attempt to defeat the Wicked Queen. Will Snow White meet her handsome Prince and save the day?

Snow White will feature all the traditional pantomime ingredients: Sensational songs, sparkling costumes, a live band, dazzling dance routines, hilarious slapstick comedy and bags of audience participation, plus the magnificent sets and costumes the Opera House panto is famous for.

The script will once again be written by Eric Potts, who played baker Diggory Compton in Coronation Street, and as well as writing pantos is one of the UK’s best loved panto dames, appearing at the Opera House in Aladdin 2009/10, and in Dick Whittington in 2013/14.
