MANCHESTER city centre is gearing up for an “out of this world” star-studded invasion of the Jedi and Galactic Empire.
The Printworks is hosting a Star Wars Galactic Gala on July 6 starting at 12pm in celebration of the film’s epic success and legions of fans.
Visitors on the day will have the unique opportunity to meet special guests from the original Star Wars cast – including: Paul Blake, Pam Rose, Femi Taylor and the much celebrated makeup artist, Shaune Harrison.
Fred Booth, Centre Director said: “Star Wars has been an unprecedented success since its release almost 40 years ago. The Printworks and Manchester is extremely proud to be able to host this fantastic opportunity for visitors to enjoy a touch of the Stars and get a taste of the Galaxy in the heart of Manchester. We look forward to welcoming all lovers of the Empire on July 6.”
The Star Wars gala will provide fans with the opportunity to raise their lightsabers and ask their heroes questions during the two live question and answer sessions.
It also includes photo stalls – the chance to get a snap with Darth Vader, C-3PO and even get a Stormtrooper Selfie.
Those who wish to take a quick R2 de-tour away from the Q & A stage will also be treated to an array of Star Wars stalls, containing exclusive Star Wars merchandise and also exhibitions dedicated to the Droids, Storm Troopers and even Han Solo in carbonite.
There will also be a costume competition during the day, giving visitors the chance to turn Manchester into a Star Wars film set by descending into the city dressed as the Stars from the Stars.
There’s something extra special on offer too, with The Printworks hosting a ‘Dinner with the Stars’ at Papa G’s Grill and Bar, providing the chance to ‘Sith’ and dine with the actors of the Star Wars Movies and indulge in some delicious cocktail Jar Jar Drinks.
