I’m really interested in new trends, in art, culture, lifestyle, fashion and beauty! I’m one of the fashion geeks that follows Fashion Week trends from across the globe, and even had the privilege of being invited to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia as a domestic media delegate in 2012! You can check out those posts on my sister blog: Sydney Social 101

I’ve found myself experimenting with fashion and beauty recently. I’m a big believer that you don’t need masses of money to compete with new looks and trends from the catwalk! I LOVE the high street too!

I plan to do regular posts here on Manchester Social 101 about budget looks in terms of beauty, fashion and art.

This week my Trend is Caviar Nails!

Whilst on a trip to Spain recently, I visited Primark and discovered the ‘Embellish 3D Manicure’ for €3:50, which I thought was a steal!

It had the instructions on the back:

1. Paint each nail with two coats
2. Once the second coat is on (do each nail individually) and still wet, pour the beads over the nail, with the plastic tray underneath and pat the ‘caviar’ pearls into place.
3. Wait 20 mins and voila! Perfect pretty 3D nails!
4. Pour the excess pearls into the funnel and back into the bottle to ensure there’s no waste!

I decided to play with the look slightly and create a statement nail with the look whilst using a baby pink nail polish on my other nails.

The result is below:

I would love to know your thoughts…

I think it looks pretty cool. Almost like someone dipped their nails in a pot of colored nonpareils. I feel like it can get suppper messy though with all the balls rolling around everywhere.

Hi Sam, thanks so much for commenting! You know I thought exactly the same! However it comes with a plastic tray and little funnel to ensure that any runaway pearls are caught straight away 🙂

lol. Plastic tray or not, I feel like they would end up all over the place if I tried to do it! I can just imagine the plink, plink, plink noise as they bounced all over the floor. ;P
