This month saw the official opening of Mr Cooper’s House & Garden, Simon Rogan’s second restaurant at The Midland Hotel in Manchester, which Manchester Social 101 had the pleasure of being invited to.
Guests were treated to performances from Manchester Jazz & Literature festival, plus a range of canapés and cocktails from the delicious new menu including chocolate pizza and Mr Cooper’s Autumn Punch.
Simon Rogan addressed the crowd commenting, “This is a new venture for me on a much larger scale and we’re excited to be feeding a lot of people and showing a different style and presentation of food.”
Mike Magrane, General Manager of The Midland said, “What an amazing introduction for Mr Cooper’s House and Garden to Manchester. As soon as we had the gas lamps burning at the entrance and people started to arrive I knew we were going to have a great night and an amazing bar and restaurant.”
Combining modern touches with the history and heritage of Mr Cooper himself, whose house and famous gardens sat on the site back in 1819, Mr Cooper’s House & Garden offers a multitude of different dining settings under one roof.
The 150-seat restaurant serving lunch and dinner, Mr Cooper’s House & Garden includes a unique garden room, made with natural materials, which offers an all-year-round summer feel with its cascading wall of plants, tree and gazebo. This imaginative space brings the outside in, with a creative design and decor which adds to the tranquil personality that is evident throughout the restaurant.
In addition, a 50-cover destination bar, comprising an opulent library with curved seating, plus a luxurious semi-private study with leather booths and low level lighting offers the ideal venue for all different types of diners, from couples to an evening catching up with colleagues or friends.
