What’s On: EVENTS AT BLACK DOG BALLROOM

This month’s tasting session will be all about tequila. There will be plenty of samples, cocktails, themed canapés and experts on hand to spread their tequila knowledge!

Thursday night at Black Dog NQ sees Underdog resident DJ Da Funk take over the decks with his blend of hip-hop, funk and dubstep sounds.

 After four awesome events FRANK is back! Selecting only the very best DJs who are guaranteed to take the roof off at Underdog, this time round FRANK welcomes Danse Club to Underdog to mark the release of their new EP with Groove Armada! Duo Brodanse will take to the decks bringing deep, futuristic house music to the dancefloor. Having recently caught the attention of Groove Armada, the two have done a series of collaborations and intimate gigs to sell out crowds. Pete Tong favourite Patrick Topping will also be making an appearance and his move from home studio to Hot Creations and recent DC-10, Ibiza headline slot makes this DJ one to watch!

Tussle are now firmly rooted at their new home and as they approach their 1st Birthday what better way to celebrate than a totally free event!?

Following their successful debut here in September, Tussle will continue to deliver techno by the bucket-load. Bringing the coolest bookings to the venue on the last Friday of every month, this event will showcase the best in underground house and techno from world class DJs. This month, widely respected house DJ Moodymanc will join them. Having gained this nickname due to his Mancunian roots and heavily jazz tinged productions, expect a highly eclectic set from this expert party starter!

At the ripe old age of 71 DJ Derek has decided it is time to hang up his headphones but Underdog aren’t going to let him retire without brining him to Manchester for one last time.  The Bristol based DJ is an industry icon blending 60s rocksteady, reggae, ska, dancehall and soul music and even MCs in Jamaican Patois! Derek is  a Paradise regular and a Notting Hill Carnival and Glastonbury Institution; don’t miss this chance to see him for the last time!

This weekly student night delivers the best in cheesy chart tunes and party pop!  Expect to hear favourite guilty pleasures that everyone knows the words to but are too ashamed to admit!
