Take a trip down memory lane with either E.T. or The Sound of Music

It’s all about a trip down memory lane for next week’s film choices at Screenfields, in association with Stella Artois. The question is, will the public be tempted to vote for classic sing-along, The Sound of Music or the sci-fi tear-jerker that is E.T.?

Online voting will open Friday, with people asked to choose their favourite of the two. The film with the most votes will be shown on Thursday; weather permitting. The decision whether to show the film or not will be taken on Thursday morning and announced on Twitter.

One of the most beloved motion pictures of all time, Steven Spielberg’s E.T. follows the unforgettable journey of a lost alien and Elliot, the 10-year-old boy he befriends. Can E.T. find his way home? What will happen to him if any adults find him? A guaranteed tear-jerker from the 80’s.

Screenfields has always been a fan of showing films that get people singing and ‘The Sound of Music’ never fails to disappoint. A classic musical, in which a nun leaves her convent to become governess to a large family in Austria, the film is filled with sing-alongs such as: ‘My Favourite Things,’ ‘Maria’ and ‘16 going on 17’.
