I have such a passion for travel, having spent the last four years living in Sydney and travelling Asia, I’m often asked how I lived without my home comforts.
To be honest, after living out of my backpack for six months, all I wanted was to have my own bathroom and lay all my products out in front of me and just marvel at them, ha!
In all seriousness, I don’t believe that you have to pack a shower bag to rival Mariah Carey’s luggage – I think that if you pack a few key essentials you can’t go wrong!
Let’s start with shower gel, face wash, exfoliator and shampoo and conditioner:
Imperial Leather – Ocean Fresh
This fresh smelling, turquoise shower gel is the latest addition to the Imperial Leather collection. It smells amazing and leaves your skin feeling soft and smelling lovely!
It’s the perfect travel companion after a day at the beach, or after a day in the surf/ or after suffering dry heat, it will leave you squeaky clean and refreshed!
Bravura London’s – Glycolic Acid Body Scrub 10%
Ideal for pre-holiday prep, Bravura’s unisex Body Scrub is also perfect for everyday use, clearing stubborn spots on the chest and back, fading age spots & stretch marks and preventing annoying ingrown hairs.
Founded by experienced facial therapist, Amanda Elias, Bravura London is a fabulously affordable yet effective skincare line dedicated to improving the quality of your skin, whatever your skin type.
Hop over to www.bravuralondon.com to see Bravura London’s beautiful range of natural products made with active ingredients from Mother Nature; exotic concoctions of volcanic mud, seaweed extracts, chamomile, Aloe Vera, Vitamin C, Gotu Kola and cucumber.
Simple Face Wash
I think its so important to make sure you take your make-up off at night time and wash your face again in the morning. I do tend to think that if you’re using a product on your face twice a day, it does need to be gentle on your skin and cost effective! I don’t believe in spending a fortune on face wash, I’ve had Clarins and Clinique and honestly, I haven’t found one better than Simple – that is also so effective when removing stubborn eye make-up.
Clean & Clear – advantage clear & soothe daily scrub
When you’re travelling and exposing your skin to the sun, it’s so important to make sure that your removing dead skin cells from your face and the grim and dirt from the day.
Clean & Clear advantage clear & soothe daily scrub is gentle enough to use daily and the soft exfoliating pearls make sure that your skin is glowing and healthy!
Trevor Sorbie Colour Silver Shampoo
If you’re a blondie like me, the last thing you want is for your hair to go dull or ‘brassy’ whilst you’re on your travels!
This fab new product, complete with hot new branding does the job and leaves your hair feeling nourished and silky 🙂
Aussie Miracle Hair Insurance
Whilst on holiday, I don’t know about you but I HATE having salt water in my hair. I’m not the kind of girl that rocks the beach babe look… think more drowned rat 😉
I’ve found this little tool that at least helps me edge one step closer to beach babe-ness… After swimming, make sure that you rinse your hair with fresh water (where possible) and spray the Aussie Miracle Hair Insurance through your locks. Comb through and I promise you’ll notice the difference. It also helps to protect your hair from the sun too! This has been one of my favourite products since my early teens, I can’t travel without it!
L’Oreal BB Cream with 50 SPF
It is so important to protect your skin for harmful UV rays, especially if you’re visiting a country with high UV levels, such a ski and beach resorts.
When applied to the skin the BB cream instantly blends with your skin tone and hides any blemishes whilst protecting your skin from the sun. The colour of the cream means that you don’t have to worry about applying any make-up during the day if you’re not used to going without any foundation.
Olay Total Effects – 7 in One
It is so important to make sure that your skin is hydrated whilst your on holiday. This cream is ideal to put on in the evening after a day in the sun. The mixture of serum and moisturiser soothes the skin after exposure to the elements.
Clinique All About Eyes
I know when I’m travelling that my eyes can get tired looking. Clinique all about eyes eye cream instantly provides a moisture surge to the area around your eyes and instantly reduces any puffiness. Note: make sure you only apply to your brow line and on the socket line under the eye, tap the moisturiser in and leave to dry – don’t rub and don’t put on your eyelid, this causes build up and can actually cause the eye to be irratated.
Lucas Pawaw
Lucas Papaw is a must-have product for everyone, bold claim I know! I would say it’s an affordable version of the Eight Hour Cream. It is perfect to keep your lips soft and hydrated when travelling on flights.
Stay tuned for my ultimate make-up bag essentials – I’m not a beauty professional, I don’t profess to know everything there is to know about beauty, I just tell you what I like and recommend products that I think really work.
